Rosetta Stone - Is it the best way to learn a language

With all of the different language software available is Rosetta Stone the best program available to learn a foreign language. It is a very expensive program so is it really worth the money.

I would say as someone who has used several different techniques and programs, including college that Rosetta Stone is probably better than most if not all. If price doesn't matter, I am not sure if I know anything better. It uses a visual approach that simulates learning language as we did when first learning to speak.

This program is very well thought out, sometimes it seems like the actual code behind it, the software that runs it is a little dated. As it just doesn't feel like Microsoft but maybe thats just my video game mentality kicking in. (you know what I mean if you grew up in the video game era where everything has to be fast and graphically astounding) That being said its not bad. The information and the style it teaches is what sets it apart though.

Instead of just giving you words to memorize or sentence structure, it focuses on visual aids. For instance it will put up a picture and give you a sentence or phrase that relates. Then it will put up several pictures and ask you to choose the right one. It continues to do this and adapt until you continue to be more confident. Rosetta Stone products are very good at creating an environment that is very user friendly and user intune.

Although there are other great programs out there, I just havent found any that compare, and they have a program for just about every language you can imagine.

I would love to here feedback on this. If you know of similar programs don't be afraid to comment.
